Overview

Most squid from UK seas are Fish to Avoid or Need Improvement. We recommend finding alternatives to all squid, octopus, and cuttlefish caught in the UK. European squid is rarely available at UK supermarkets, but may instead be found at fishmongers, and online retailers. Be aware that other squid species, with varying sustainability, may be more available in supermarkets.
