Our Blue Heart

1 minute read

We are on a mission to deepen our understanding of this incredible relationship between people and the ocean.

Connecting with our Blue Heart

We want to tell the story of all the different ways our ocean is important to our future wellbeing and ensure that what really matters is not overlooked when decisions are being made about the future.

This year we’ll also be sharing Our Blue Heart (and yours if you’d like to share your story!) in the run up to the Climate Conference in Glasgow to add our voice to the vital call for commitments to ocean and planetary health.

Our Blue Heart Project

Our Blue Heart is an ongoing exploration of what the ocean means to people. The project was launched in 2018 with the production of documentary film. Interviews up and down the country revealed a deep, fascinating and personally defining relationship between people and our ocean.

The short film at the top of the page gives you a glimpse of what we found.

Tell us your Blue Heart Story

As part of Our Blue Heart we regularly feature stories about people’s ocean connection in our magazine or via our social media channels.

So, whoever you are - we’d love to know what the ocean means to you.

Share the love - organise a screening

The full length (30min) Our Blue Heart feature is available for screenings.

If you’d like to screen the film with your family, friends, students, colleagues or community group, please get in touch for a download link.
