Seas full of life

The ocean is in crisis, but there's still hope to save our seas. Together with our supporters, we're making positive changes to breathe life back into our ocean. Will you join our fight?

Who we are

We're the Marine Conservation Society, a UK-wide community of ocean lovers all working together towards our vision of a sea full of life, where nature flourishes and people thrive.

From cleaning beaches to shaping government policies, together we're working towards a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean - one we can all enjoy.

Successes so far

21

%

average increase in biodiversity in fully protected marine areas

16,000

seagrass seed bags and 2,200 seedling bags have been packed by our Sea Champions

We've secured spaces where species and habitats can recover, because only seas full of life can absorb carbon and help tackle climate change. We also promote sustainable fishing methods and seafood to minimise harm, allowing seagrass meadows to grow. We clean beaches and use the litter data found to lobby governments for change, like introducing a 5p charge for plastic bags which has seen a 55% drop in plastic back litter on beaches.
