This page sets out terms and conditions for competitions we run.
GBBC event registration 2026 - 'MCS shop bundle' Prize Draw
- The Prize Draw is open to UK and Channel Island residents aged 18 and over who register a Great British Beach Clean 2026 event on the Marine Conservation Society’s website by 23:59 on 31st July 2026.
- Employees or agencies of the Marine Conservation Society, their family members or anyone else connected with the Prize Draw are not eligible to enter.
- Entrants into the Prize Draw shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
- To enter the Prize Draw, you must register a beach clean on the Marine Conservation Society’s website for the Great British Beach Clean, which takes place between 18th-27th September 2026. Eligible registrations received by the closing date are automatically entered into the Prize Draw; no further action is required. Entry to the Prize Draw is free; no purchase or payment is required. If you have any questions about how to enter or in connection with the Prize Draw, please e-mail us at [email protected].
- Only one entry to the Prize Draw per person; entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
- The Marine Conservation Society accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, cannot be delivered or entered due to technical issues or other reasons beyond its control. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by the Marine Conservation Society.
- The Prize Draw closes at 23:59 on 31st July 2026. Beach clean registrations received after this time will not be considered.
- The winner will be chosen using a computer-generated random selection tool after the Prize Draw closes, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- There will be one winner and the prize will consist of a Marine Conservation Society shop bundle.
- Any beach clean organisers wishing to opt out of the Prize Draw may do so by e-mailing us at [email protected]. Opting out only removes you from the Prize Draw and does not affect your beach clean registration.
- The Marine Conservation Society accepts no responsibility for any costs not specified as part of the prize.
- The winner will be notified by email within 28 days of the Prize Draw closing. If the winner does not respond to the Marine Conservation Society within 28 days of being notified, the prize will be forfeited and the Marine Conservation Society will select an alternate winner using the same random selection process.
- The prize will only be delivered to an address in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) or Channel Islands, provided by the winner. The Marine Conservation Society is unable to deliver the prize outside the United Kingdom. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that their contact details are accurate.
- The name and county of the winner may be published on the Marine Conservation Society’s website and/or social media channels. By entering the Prize Draw, entrants agree to this publicity unless they notify the Marine Conservation Society otherwise.
- The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
- The Marine Conservation Society retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is not available.
- The Marine Conservation Society shall use, and take care of, any personal information you supply as described in its privacy policy ( Privacy policy | Marine Conservation Society ) and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Prize Draw entry.
- The Marine Conservation Society reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the Prize Draw where necessary due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to technical issues, suspected fraud, or events rendering the Prize Draw unable to operate as planned. The decision of the Marine Conservation Society in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The Prize Draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Children’s T-shirt design - MCS shop competition
- The Children’s T-shirt Design Competition is open to UK and Channel Island residents aged 4-11 years old. A parent or legal guardian must give permission for the child to enter and submit the entry on the child’s behalf.
- Employees or agencies of the Marine Conservation Society, Teemill Tech Ltd, their immediate family members, or anyone professionally connected with the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition are not eligible to enter.
- Entrants into the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
- To enter the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition, you must submit your entry digitally using the online submission form displayed on https://mcsshop.org.uk/t-shirt-design-competition/ by 11:59pm on Sunday 9th August 2026.
- Entry to the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition is free; no purchase or payment is required.
- Only one entry is permitted per child. Multiple entries from the same child will not be accepted, whether submitted using the same or different contact details.
- Entries must be the entrant’s own original work, must not copy or closely imitate any existing artwork, character, brand, logo or copyrighted design, and must not infringe any third-party rights.
- The Marine Conservation Society reserves the right to reject or remove any entry that it reasonably considers to be offensive, inappropriate, defamatory, unlawful, copied, AI-generated in whole or substantial part, or otherwise inconsistent with the values of the Marine Conservation Society.
- The Marine Conservation Society accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, cannot be delivered or entered due to technical issues or other reasons beyond its control. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by the Marine Conservation Society.
- The Children’s T-shirt Design Competition closes at 23:59 on Sunday 9 August 2026. Entries received after this time will not be considered.
- The winner will be chosen by a judging panel of Marine Conservation Society and Teemill Tech Ltd employees.
- Judging and voting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 12th August 2026, with the winning designs scheduled to be uploaded to https://mcsshop.org.uk/ by the end of August 2026.
- There will be three winners. First place will receive three items of merchandise containing an enhanced and re-created version of their winning design. Second place will receive two items of merchandise containing an enhanced and re-created version of their winning design. Third place will receive one item of merchandise containing an enhanced and re-created version of their winning design. The specific items supplied are subject to availability.
- The winning designs will be used as inspiration for a new clothing design. They will be enhanced and re-created to make them suitable for print and sold through The Marine Conservation Society’s online shop at https://mcsshop.org.uk/
- The Marine Conservation Society’s net proceeds from the sale of merchandise featuring the winning designs will go towards supporting The Marine Conservation Society’s work. There will be no monetary payment to the winning artists for use of their designs.
- By entering, the child and their parent or legal guardian grant the Marine Conservation Society a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt, edit, enhance and re-create the submitted design for the purposes of administering, promoting and publicising the competition, creating merchandise based on the winning designs, and selling that merchandise through the Marine Conservation Society’s online shop.
- The parent or legal guardian submitting the entry confirms, to the best of their knowledge, that the entry is the child’s own original work and that use of the entry by or on behalf of the Marine Conservation Society in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will not infringe the rights of any third party.
- After submission, a parent or legal guardian may withdraw an entry from the competition by emailing [email protected] before the closing deadline, stating the child’s name, the parent or guardian’s contact details, and a brief description of the entry. Withdrawal from the competition will not affect any personal data rights under the Marine Conservation Society’s privacy policy.
- The Marine Conservation Society accepts no responsibility for any costs not specified as part of the prize.
- The decision of the judging panel is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The winner will be notified by email within 5 days of the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition closing. If the winner does not respond to the Marine Conservation Society within 7 days of being notified, the prize will be forfeited and the Marine Conservation Society will select an alternate winner.
- The Marine Conservation Society may ask the parent or legal guardian of a winner to confirm receipt of the prize by email.
- The prize will only be delivered to an address in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) or Channel Islands, provided by the winner. The Marine Conservation Society is unable to deliver the prize outside the United Kingdom. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that their contact details are accurate.
- The Marine Conservation Society may credit the winning child by first name and age only, unless the parent or legal guardian gives separate consent for any additional information to be used.
- The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or any other prize.
- The Marine Conservation Society retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is not available.
- The Marine Conservation Society will use and take care of any personal information supplied in connection with the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition as described in its privacy policy and in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. Personal information will be used to administer the competition, contact the parent or legal guardian about the entry, notify winners, arrange prizes, and publicise winning entries where consent or another lawful basis applies.
- The Marine Conservation Society reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to technical issues, suspected fraud, or events rendering the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition unable to operate as planned.
- Where Teemill Tech Ltd supports the administration, production, hosting or fulfilment of the competition or related merchandise, personal information may be shared with Teemill Tech Ltd only as necessary for those purposes and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
- The Children’s T-shirt Design Competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the Children’s T-shirt Design Competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
