Korev Lager

St Austell Brewery’s flagship lager brand, korev, was proud to be the headline sponsor for our annual conference and AGM. The brand celebrated a new partnership with the Marine Conservation Society earlier this year.

About korev

Born in Cornwall, korev (4.8% abv) unveiled a vibrant new look in April inspired by its home county and the coastline. Supporting green, sustainable initiatives that help safeguard the environment is a mission that’s close to the brand and St Austell Brewery’s heart.

The Marine Conservation Society has also been named ‘Charity of the Year’ by St Austell Brewery’s Charitable Trust. Since it was launched in 2003, the trust has donated over £800,000 to charities and causes across the South West.

Why we care about the ocean

In April 2018, St Austell Brewery was awarded a prestigious Queen’s Award, for sustainability across its operations and long-term commitment to green brewing and reducing the impact of its business on the environment. The company was praised for its ongoing investments to become more sustainable, including water treatment facilities, the installation of solar panels, achieving zero waste to landfill status across its managed pub estate, and establishing a barley growing partnership with Cornish farms.

Earlier this year, the brewery made the switch to a 100% renewable and sustainable supply of CO₂ (carbon dioxide) – a crucial component in the company’s brewing and production process.

Laura McKay, Head of Marketing for St Austell Brewery’s Beers & Brands, said: “We are very proud to be teaming up with the Marine Conservation Society, a charity that works tirelessly in its fight against the threat to our oceans. korev is a brand that cares for the coastline and promotes a responsible approach to enjoying all that our unique and beautiful part of the world has to offer.”
