Can you help us #NameOurCampaign?

1 minute read

Our ocean is a hero in fighting the climate crisis. We need your help to name our upcoming campaign…

What is blue carbon?

When healthy and protected, marine habitats like saltmarshes and seagrass beds absorb carbon, generate oxygen, protect our coastline and remove pollutants from the water.

But right now, we’re contaminating our seas and destroying precious ecosystems. This is not only harming the species that live there, it’s reducing the ocean's ability to help fight the climate crisis.

Our blue carbon report

Did you see the report we published earlier this month? Blue Carbon – Ocean-based solutions to fight the climate crisis

We are calling for a Blue Carbon Strategy to increase protections and fund rewilding projects to not only keep carbon locked into our seas, but increase the capacity for this storage into the future. We’re launching a new campaign to raise awareness of blue carbon and call on decision makers to recover and safeguard our ocean for future generations.

That’s where you come in!

We want you to #NameOurCampaign... whether you’re on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn, you can vote for your favourite name from the three that we’re suggesting. Or, if you’re feeling really creative, come up with a campaign name of your own.

Watch our video below to find out more about the potential names and why we chose them.

Head on over to social media to get involved, and keep an eye out for updates on the winning name and the next steps for the campaign.
