To coincide with the Great British Beach Clean, I'm organising another clean of Solent Beach but with an increasing number of volunteers, we'll likely attempt to clear from Hengistbury Head/Long Groin to SOBO beach, formerly known as Bistro on the Beach.

The plan is to meet at the Hiker Cafe at Hengistbury Head which is really convenient for parking and for the binning of waste at the end of the event.

Whilst there will be some litter pickers and gloves I'd encourge as many to bring their own if possible please. This clean is open to children accompanied by a responsbile adult and we welcome friendly dogs too!

More details to come as I get sign off from BCP Council.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
