Come along & join me for a clean-up on Chesil Beach as part of the Marine Conservation Society's annual Great British Beach Clean Event 2021.

Location: Pier Road, Portishead, Bristol, BS20 7HG

Here's what we will be doing - we will clean the beach collecting as much litter as possible and record the litter as we go in the Beachwatch survey forms.  Please click here to find out more about why we survey and the importance of collecting the data.

Buckets will be provided to collect the item from the beach surface, but please bring your own gloves – such as gardening gloves and hand sanitiser if you can.

It’s advisable you check the weather forecast ahead of the event to wear suitable clothing & sturdy footwear.

Under 16s - To comply with out insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental/guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.

Parking - I usually park along Pier Road being mindful of local resident’s access. Please do not park over access points or in the Royal Inn pub carpark as that is for customers only.  Pier Road, Portishead, Bristol, BS20 7HG

Dogs are permitted on this beach.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
