Join us from 10.00am - 1.00pm on Saturday 18th September, meeting at the Fittie end of Aberdeen beach (on the esplanade, near the public toilets).

Our project partners, Decathlon, will also be supporting the clean-up and have some amazing environmentally-friendly prizes. Come along to find out how to win!

At the Beach Clean, we are also gathering information for the Marine Conservation Society about the kind of litter people are finding at the beach. This will be done with a survey, which participants can pick up at the EGCP stand at the Footdee end of the beach, and fill out while they are picking up litter. The Highlander Café Bus are partnering with the event and offering a free coffee to all cleaners who show their beach clean survey while ordering.

Beach cleaning equipment will be provided including bin bags and pickers. Although we have a limited supply of gloves, at this time we kindly ask that you bring your own (gardening gloves are great!). It is also reminded that participants are required to dress appropriately, including warm clothes and good footwear.

This is an event for all so please do bring along your friends and family and feel free to drop in any time between 10.00am and 1.00pm. Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult at all times.

We look forward to welcoming you at the event and hope you have a safe and enjoyable time!

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
