Leigh Morris

Leigh is Chief Executive of the National Land Based College (UK), which supports training and development for land based industries (from agriculture to horticulture, and animal care to fisheries). Leigh has a wide biodiversity and education background, previously directing education and learning at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, where he also managed a number of international conservation and capacity building projects. Leigh’s career started in horticulture and he is a Past-President of their Chartered Institute.

Since he was a boy Leigh has had a passion for the marine world, which developed into a love of scuba diving, boats and beach combing! Leigh is convinced of the potential for education and public engagement, in all its forms, to have a greater positive impact on biodiversity conservation. In addition to his Trustee role, Leigh is an active MCS volunteer, Sea Champion and Seasearch Diver.
