Leigh Morris

Leigh is currently based for 2-years on the island of St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean, one of the UK’s Overseas Territories. Leigh is spending half his time working as a consultant in the Marine Section of the Saint Helena National Trust and the other half assisting the St Helena Govt in their botanical conservation work.

Leigh has a background in environmental education and engagement, he was the first Chief Executive of the National Land Based College (developing skills solutions for agriculture, horticulture and associated industries) and previously directed education and learning at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Leigh’s initial career background was horticulture crop production and he is a Past-President of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture.

Since he was a boy Leigh has had a passion for the marine world, which developed into a love of scuba diving, fishing, boats and beach combing! In addition to his Trustee role, Leigh is an active MCS volunteer, Sea Champion and Seasearch Diver.
