Engagement and Education Manager
Sue Ranger has been with us since 2001 and has worked in marine conservation, community engagement and education for 25 years. While she grew up in South Africa, a thousand kilometres from the ocean, she has always felt a strong connection with the coast and sea. Sue currently leads a team focused on education and innovative and effective stakeholder engagement. This includes the film based Community Voice Method projects that take a values based approach to engaging stakeholders in marine resource management issues. Sue is also a member of the Marine CoLAB - a collaborative initiative to improve communication about how people value and benefit from the ocean. Sue is currently doing a PhD, looking at advancing valuation of the social and cultural dimension of ecosystem services taking a values-based approach. She juggles work and studying while raising her two children and spending as much time as possible outside.
