Director of Finance and Resources
Nicola studied Biology at Bristol University followed by a masters degree in Environmental Sciences, so conservation has been close to her heart for a long time. Following accountancy training with EY, one of the Big Four accountancy firms, Nicola has spent over 17 years in the charity sector. After four years as Head of Finance at a national care charity, she moved to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust as Director of Finance where she could combine her professional expertise with her passion for conservation. Not ‘just an accountant’ for very long, she was responsible for legal matters, IT and HR, and now has a similar remit at MCS. Nicola believes that good governance and management are essential to ensure that charities are as effective as possible. With our marine environment under so much pressure, MCS has a big task ahead and it is a privilege to be part of the team leading the charity through these challenges.
