Debbie Crockard

Senior Fisheries Policy Advocate

Debbie has been in love with the sea since the release of ‘Free Willy’ in 1993. Her enthusiasm led to her completing a Masters in Applied Fisheries and Marine Ecology where she developed a passion for the deep sea and fisheries. Debbie was involved in two fantastic deep sea research projects, whilst working for the University of Aberdeen, before joining MCS in 2011 as Fisheries Policy Officer. Her work at MCS focusses on fisheries management, legislation and engagement; balancing environmental protection and sustainable fishing practices. She has also completed a teaching degree and enjoys engaging with young people passionate about our ocean.
