Helpful Holidays

Helpful Holidays is one of our regular business supporters and has made a significant contribution to our conservation work. Every three years, it’s the Marine Conservation Society’s turn to be their Charity of the Year and benefit from some of the fantastic community and individual fundraising the Helpful team organise, as well as benefiting from donations from their generous customers.

Helpful Holidays is a family-run self-catering cottage agency established over 30 years ago and is one of the leading West Country specialists, offering over 600 of the finest holiday homes in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.

Helpful Holidays’ offices are in the heart of the West Country in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. They love the region and being environmentally aware is second nature to them. For example, in their offices, all the electricity they use has been generated from renewable sources. Their proactive approach goes into each cottage too. Helpful Holidays asses each cottage in detail, looking at things like energy providers, insulation, heating and hot water timers, appliances, recycling, and the provision of information of information about local facilities and car-free days out, and give practical advice to holiday home owners on how to make improvements.

The holiday homes range from romantic retreats for two to grand country houses and ancient farmhouses for great gatherings of up to 47 people, as well as seaside apartments and simple country cottages with roaring log fires. You’ll find detailed descriptions, lots of photos and independent customer reviews of every holiday home at www.helpfulholidays.com, where you can search for your perfect cottage and view the latest availability and special offers.

All the cottages have been hand-picked and star-rated by Helpful Holidays and are regularly inspected to make sure they are great places for happy holidays. The Helpful Holidays team knows the West Country and the cottages well and is always happy to chat and offer straightforward advice to ensure that you find the cottage of your dreams.
