Description

A red seaweed with flattened fronds that usually grows on rocky seabeds, but is also very commonly attached to other, larger seaweeds such as kelp.

Can tolerate surprisingly low light levels, in shady places and at greater depths than many other seaweeds.

All around the UK, but less common off sandy Eastern coasts
