Description

The male is a beautiful array of colours: blue, orange, yellow and black, one of the brightest fishes in UK seas. Females are a golden colour, with black markings.

All cuckoo wrasses start life as females - one in a group will develop into a male.

Location

A regular sight for divers around South Devon, an occasional catch for anglers too.
