A striking trout, with a strong thick tail, and black or brown spots along its shiny flanks.
This is the same species as the brown trout, which is common in freshwater rivers, but grows bigger and bulkier in seawater.
Location
The Dyfi estuary is renowned for its trout, and is popular with anglers.
