Description

A large, attractive character, may bow-ride with ships and lift entirely out of the water when swimming at speed. White-tipped beak, softly marked white and grey sides.

Sometimes found in the company of much larger whales.

Location

Usually lives in deep offshore waters, so best seen by boat - but visits northern UK coasts in Summer. East Scotland, Northumberland.
