Kate Whitton - South and South East England

Hi, I’m Kate Whitton and I cover the South and South East of England. I am very excited to be working on the Sea Champions programme as it covers a diverse number of projects which involve a fantastic group of dedicated volunteers. An important aspect of the Sea Champions work is gaining support for the Marine Protected Areas campaign which aims to create more marine reserves/zones around the UK coast. So many of us have a connection to the sea however only 0.1% of the marine environment has designated protection. The marine environment is valuable to us all, whether it’s the fish we eat or the beaches we visit, and conservation of our marine resources is important to everyone. Becoming a Sea Champion is a great way to get involved and you can actively make a big difference.

There are some amazing projects to get stuck into so please do get in touch – I’d love to hear from you!
