Gemma Freeman - from Middlesex
Surfing in Morocco was a wake up call as to what our oceans would become if we all stopped caring. Dodging oil, plastic bags, and other dubious foamy sunstances when duckdiving waves, and being surrounded by plastic bottles, human waste, syringes and broken glass on the beach, made me even more appreciative of our stunning coasts, and their protection, at home in the UK.
Gemma has been an amazing help promoting the messages of marine conservation both online through MSN and by providing cmapign materials and information to the local surf community. Gemma has also become a Beachwatch Volunteer, and has received training in marine species identification.Back to the list
