Video: thank you for a record-breaking Great British Beach Clean

1 minute read

We did it! It’s the end of our week-long Great British Beach Clean 2021, and thanks to all of you this year looks set to be a record-breaker.

With over 500 events taking place between , it's been our biggest yet, and we couldn't be more grateful to everyone that headed out to the beach or took part in an inland litter pick.

The data we get from this year's campaign is going to be invaluable in pushing for change and raising awareness of the importance of keeping our environment clean and healthy.

We've put together this short film to say thank you - we hope you like it.

After all your hard work, ours starts now and we’ll begin number crunching shortly, so we’d really appreciate if you could get all your litter data to us no later than October 8, unless you have already sent it in via our app.

If you're submitting your data through our website please log in and submit your litter data via your event, which you'll find on your volunteer dashboard.

We need your support

You might have heard our recent radio adverts featuring TV presenter and adventurer Simon Reeve over the last week.

Simon is a Marine Conservation Society Ocean Ambassador and long-standing supporter of work, and he's calling on everyone to come together and do their bit for the ocean.  His powerful message is written below.

"I've seen first-hand the devastation that single-use plastic is having on our incredible beaches and oceans – killing wildlife and destroying precious habitats.

"The Marine Conservation Society is fighting to change this by working for a cleaner, better protected and healthier ocean – one we can all enjoy. I've supported them for years and you can help too by joining as a member today at mcsuk.org/join.”
