Your donation doubled this Christmas with The Big Give!

2 minute read

One donation - twice the impact!

Our ocean covers over 70% of our planet. It provides more than half the oxygen we breathe and absorbs nearly a third of our carbon emissions. But right now, we’re polluting our waters and destroying precious habitats. This is not only harming the species that live there, it’s also reducing the ocean's ability to help fight the climate crisis.

The next generation will inherit the ocean and it's vital we provide the learning and inspiration young people need to protect and restore it and that's why we're asking you to join us for The Big Give Christmas Challenge.

Your generosity will help us inspire young people

Helping young people understand their connection to the ocean and encouraging them to make the right choices from the start means we will have a more engaged and aware society for the future.

The appetite from young people to learn about and protect our seas has never been stronger and by donating to ourBig Give Christmas campaign you'll be supporting our work to reach the next generation through delivery of our Education Strategy, including curriculum linked learning, webinars and campaigns.

Double the donation, double the impact

We're taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge - from now until 7th December every donation made through our campaign page will be DOUBLED thanks to the amazing support of the Helvellyn Foundation and Reed Foundation.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021

We want every child and young person in the UK to have access to the experiences, information and knowledge that will shape a lifelong connection to the ocean - and this is a brilliant opportunity to give a gift at Christmas to support our youth engagement programme.

"Whilst working with MCS, I found that I was very inspired to go out and help keep the beaches clean. I thoroughly enjoyed talking about what their plans are for the future and feel I have been able to play my part in aiding their success." Lucy, 17.

The Society has a record of sustained achievement and deserves the wholehearted, passionate support of everyone who cares about our marine environment. Our special bond with our coastline and the sea, developed and nurtured over many generations, deserves nothing less.
