Musician? We need you for a beach clean in Cornwall

Date posted: 22 March 2018

We’re organising a very special beach clean in Cornwall and need someone to play for a couple 45 minute sets. Do you know anyone? Forward them this page!

What and when is the event?

The Seaside Scavenge is a beach clean and clothes swap event where litter becomes the currency to purchase pre-loved clothes and goods that are pre-donated by communities.

Our first Seaside Scavenge will be held at Watergate Bay (Cornwall) on Wednesday 30 May, 10AM-2PM.

Live tunes are core to the Seaside Scavenge. We want to get as many people amped to cleanup our beaches and avoid single-use plastics. Our aim is to attract people who have never considered marine pollution. We want participants to be relaxed, learning, chatting and making change together.

So we’d love to know if you’re interested in a couple 45 minute sets and if so, what you would need on the day?

Style of music

Covers or originals of the laid-back variety are welcome. Genres tend to circle around the soft rock, indie, acoustic vibe but we’re open as long as it is easy listening and not intrusive or offensive.

Anything with a beat (or backing track) is always good to get people tapping their toes. Live drums are tricky with permits, so check-in with us on this one please.

In return for your time

As a not-for-profit we have limited funds but understand the importance of showing you our support. For a couple 45 minute sets we can offer you £45. We will promote you on our socials (Facebook and Twitter).

Thanks for taking your time to read this we appreciate it!

If it’s not your type of thing that’s all good, but if you know someone that may be keen to get involved contact Lauren Eyles, Beachwatch Programme manager on lauren.eyles@mcsuk.org or 07422 965022
