Campaign for a single-use carrier bag levy for Scotland! Eight years after MCS first supported the Environment Levy Bill proposed by Mike Pringle MSP, and six years after joining forces with WWF Scotland, RSPB Scotland and Friends of the Earth Scotland to support this Bill for a plastic bag levy, we are delighted that this issue is now within a package of measures being considered as part of the ‘Safeguarding Scotland’s Resources’ consultation.

How can you help? Take part in this consultation! Anyone can do this - you don’t need to live in Scotland to take part. The more responses to the consultation that are received from members of the public, the greater support we will demonstrate to the Scottish Government for a single-use carrier bag levy. This consultation has now closed. Read more about our other campaigns and policies on marine litter
