Host a Cool Seas workshop
Coal Seas Workshops
Cool Seas workshops are a great opportunity for your class or group to learn more about our amazing UK seas, shores and wildlife. As well as supporting the development of environmental awareness and an understanding of conservation and sustainability, Cool Seas workshops are curriculum-linked and encourage global citizenship.
Our workshops are led by a team of staff and trained Sea Champion Education volunteers and are available to schools and youth groups (Scouts, Brownies, Environment Clubs etc). They are freeb> of charge, however, if you are able to make a contribution towards our costs, it would be very much appreciated.
Cool Seas Explorers Workshops - for ages 6 – 11 years.
There are three workshops to choose from: an assembly, an infant workshop and a junior workshop. See the attached flyer for further information.
Cool Seas Investigators Workshops - for ages 11 – 18 years.
We offer a range of talks and presentations focusing on our work and the impacts of plastic pollution and will tailor the session to suit your needs and group.
For older children we also run more in depth, longer term projects (CSI Projects) focusing on data collection and analysis, marine pollution and social action.

Cool Seas on the Beach – for ages 6-18 years
Our on-beach learning usually centres around a beach clean and litter survey, as part of our Beachwatch programme. Depending on the location, age of your group, time available and tides, an additional learning experience will be offered. This will usually be an exploration of the shoreline environment and its inhabitants.
If you would like to enquire about any of our education sessions, please complete the form below. Whilst we will always do our best to provide workshops to interested groups, please note, as we are a small team made up largely of volunteers, working across the whole of the UK:
- Requests for specific dates and/or times can be trickier to accommodate than a request for a visit in a particular month or term.
- We may not always have a trained presenter in your area. If so, we will work with you to offer alternatives.
- To make the most of our time and travel, we usually try to deliver several workshops in one setting, if possible.
The Fisherman and the Pearl
Host a performance of The Fisherman and the Pearl. This captivating multi-media performance is the story of McManus the fisherman and his granddaughter Jo's discovery that the sea has remarkable powers of recovery, if we just give it a chance.
