Whiteford Sands
Status:
Confirmed
Survey type:
Beachwatch (year round)
Date & time:
Sunday, 26 November 2017 - 10:30am - 2:00pm
Meeting location:
Whiteford Sands Car park just outside Llanmadoc going down to Cwm Ivy
Additional information:

I will be doing a check on both beaches, Whiteford Sands and Llangennith (Spaniard Rocks) to find out how bad the rubbish is on both beaches. If you want to join me, normal conditions apply as below. As this is near the end of November and winter is the worst time of the year for rubbish I am expecting there to be a lot.
Thanks for signing up for this beach check. Please make sure that you wear appropriate clothing for windy, wet or very warm weather. There is often a strong wind on this coast. Rain is not so much of a problem. Shoes are essential. No flip-flops or bare feet. Bring your own food and drink should you wish to stay longer. This will be a walk along both beaches with the high tide at about 10.57am and finish well before the tide comes back in about 23.25 pm. Only significantly large or dangerous rubbish will be collected as the main purpose of today will be to check how bad the rubbish is. I will have rubbish bags with me but no other equipment. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers wanting to clean the beach for the good of the wildlife on land and in the sea. Everybody is very welcome.
