Following the latest restrictions, governments across the UK have updated their guidance on volunteering. Volunteering can continue provided you do not need to self-isolate, you follow social distancing guidance and are Covid-secure.
Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Where possible, we are happy for volunteers to run small, private beach cleans with their family or allocated bubble, but please always check and follow national and local guidelines around lock down restrictions, along with the following rules:
To help we have updated all our resources including the health and safety guidelines and Q&A. Please do have a look at these and review the government advice before you start.
If you’ve never run a beach clean or litter survey before we’re happy to help you get started. Please give our team a call on 01989 567807 or email us at Beachwatch@mcsuk.org
To join us on this beach clean, please first register as a volunteer. You will then be able to sign up to this event on this page to let us know that you will be coming.
This beach clean is organised by TW Services - Come along Saturday 22nd June and help clean Sandwich Bay beach!
Hi-vis vests, gloves, and waste bags will be supplied on the day. The beach is shingle so hard stout footwear would be advisable, and due to the beach being a large exposed area, bring warm/windproof clothing just in case. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The beach at the water's edge is quite steep so keep all children close by. The beach is very large so we'll mark off the zone to be surveyed and cleaned. Any questions please get in touch on 01304 626364 and please register to volunteer below. Thank you, TW Services.
