What to do on arrival:
1. Look out for Marine Conservation Society staff in orange tabards!
2. Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and will be asked to fill in a consent form.
3. Photos - it is great to take these to spread the word about beach cleans. We'll ask you to sign a form to say you are happy/not happy for these to be taken.

Once we've got through the above we'll be doing our usual beach clean and survey, recording what we find - there will be a safety briefing before we start.

All equipment is provided (litter pickers, bags and gloves) but bring something to eat and drink if you need to. Also please don't forget to wear sturdy shoes...

Please share lifts where possible. The nearest car park is Sand Bay Car Park: BS22 9UE (height barrier here: 2m). There is an alternative small car park further south: BS22 9UU, near the Priory School of Motoring, and another near the Commodore Hotel: BS22 9UZ.

There are loos in Sand Bay Car Park (20p).

A request - if you have a small tupperware/reusable container, please bring this with you for a spot of nurdle hunting.

See here for what a nurdle is:

A note to prospective volunteers not yet registered:
I have put a volunteer limit on this event as we have reached 200 people which is a lot of people! This means that you now will not be able to register. If you are keen to clean, there is another event at nearby Uphill on 16th - please see details and register here:
https://www.mcsuk.org/beachwatch/beach/uphill-beach-big-beach-clean/even...

Please note - I have now emailed all volunteers registered for this event (2pm Friday 14th), please check your spam and junk folders if you've not received anything in your inbox!

Any questions and please get in touch.

Best wishes,

Harriet.
