Following the latest restrictions, governments across the UK have updated their guidance on volunteering. Volunteering can continue provided you do not need to self-isolate, you follow social distancing guidance and are Covid-secure.
Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Where possible, we are happy for volunteers to run small, private beach cleans with their family or allocated bubble, but please always check and follow national and local guidelines around lock down restrictions, along with the following rules:
To help we have updated all our resources including the health and safety guidelines and Q&A. Please do have a look at these and review the government advice before you start.
If you’ve never run a beach clean or litter survey before we’re happy to help you get started. Please give our team a call on 01989 567807 or email us at Beachwatch@mcsuk.org
To join us on this beach clean, please first register as a volunteer. You will then be able to sign up to this event on this page to let us know that you will be coming.
Our winter public survey and beach cleaning event is a quarterly assessment of the environment as well as a beach clean. This event is timed to be after the tide and will start at the Pier moving along to other connected beach areas in Clevedon depending on how the tide, environment is during the week of the event. To ensure that you we have equipment for you please sign up before hand as spaces are limited*.
Are you a group? We have a limited number of group only opportunities. Email the address below to discuss these.
Are you interested in being involved in a local more regular group of beach cleaners? Get in touch via the email address below.
