Great British Beach Clean (3rd weekend in Sep)
Date & time:
Friday, 14 September 2018 - 9:45am - 11:45am
Meeting location:
This is a closed event for the upper school of Strath of Appin Primary
Additional information:

THIS IS A PRIVATE EVENT for the school group only. The general public cannot attend at this time.

The upper school from Strath of Appin are heading out with school staff and Footprint Alba to their local shore to join in the Great British Beach Clean 2018. The pupils have organised a beach clean here previously and are keen to be involved with the Beachwatch citizen science programme.

We can help to combat plastic pollution in many ways at home and when we shop as well as encouraging others to reduce their plastic, be more sustainable and to dispose of waste responsibly.

"Picking up three" is a great sentiment and we all have time to do that! Imagine if everyone in Scotland picked up three pieces each day (although we all wish we didn't have to....) ......how many less pieces of waste would there be at the end of one week....how many less pieces at risk of entering our oceans? You can ask Strath of Appin P4-7 :0)

If you would like to join in the Great British Beach Clean or Beachwatch elsewhere, there are events all over Argyll and Bute and elsewhere in the country throughout the year.
Please have a look at the tab for ‘Beach clean events’ at the top of the page and search under County for Argyll.

Thank you
