IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

CANCELLATION OF BEACH CLEAN EVENTS PENDING FURTHER NOTICE

The Covid-19 (coronavirus) infection has been declared a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organisation.
The health and wellbeing of our volunteers and supporters is our utmost priority and as such we have taken the decision to advise that all  beach clean events should be cancelled pending further notice.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will contact organisers and volunteers by email as well as update the guidance on our website as the situation develops.

NR12 area in North norfolk head into Bacton along Walcott road towards Gooches garage adjacent to Priory road is Keswick road, at the bottom of Keswick road is Rudrams gap. parking limited, some spaces in layby just past Keswick road and in field next to layby,but very limited. Best place would be walcott seafront then walk left past poachers pocket pub to the ramp. Weather appropriate clothing and walking shoes or wellies are advisable, toilets along walcott seafront also, cafe, shop and chip shop. children welcome as are dogs but best to keep dogs on leads. Ramps can be very slippery when wet. Equipment is provided,but welcome to bring your own gloves or pickers if you wish. Prep talk given before we start. Please contact me by email or phone if you require more details. All welcome and stay as long or little as you like, even half an hour helps. An enjoyable way to look after our beaches, meet new people and enjoy the coast too :)

If you apply to be a Beachwatch Organiser we will contact you to confirm your application.

  • I agree to read and follow the information relating to Health and Safety available in the organiser guide.
  • I agree to ensure a risk assessment is fully up to date in advance of Beachwatch events and any changes reflected online.
  • I will give a Health and Safety briefing to any volunteers before events start that reflects the updated risk assessment from that day.
  • I will record the details of any accident or incident of concern during the event and report this to MCS.
  • I agree to run this event as an independent organiser in support of the Marine Conservation Society. I will not use the event for any form of political promotion in line with charity commission rules.
  • I understand that anyone under 16 years of age can only attend a beach clean with their legally responsible adult (e.g. parent, guardian, school teacher or guide leader). I, or any others attending the beach clean cannot supervise someone who is under 16 if we are not their legally responsible adult.
  • I understand that if no surveys have been submitted within two years my beach will become available for others.
  • If these terms and conditions are not adhered to then MCS has the right to remove the individual as an organiser of any future events.
