A gently sloping shingle beach revealing sand at low water with a pier and a promenade.

Activities

Popular activities include: swimming, sailing, windsurfing and fishing. There is zoning for water sports. Worthing festival happens early in the year and the carnival is in the last full weekend in July - August bank holiday weekend.

Wildlife and Walks

There is a cycle path around the eastern side of splash point. Nearby is WWT’s Arundel Wetland Centre where they offer boat safaris. The RSPBs Adur Estuary is close also, thy have some fantastic bird species such as dunlin, lapwing and redshank.

Water samples are taken at this designated bathing water by the Environment Agency, during the bathing season, 15th May to 30th September.

Good — generally good water quality

Sufficient — meets minimum standards

Poor — You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
