This beach is not considered safe for swimming due to dangerous currents and shifting sandbars, but it is very popular for walking, birdwatching and horse riding. It is a large expanse of wild, sandy beach backed by an expanse of sand-dunes and Tentsmuir forest.

Wildlife and Walks

There are three miles of sand to walk along or a three mile marked route through the pine forest. Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve sits alongside the beach and seals can sometimes be sighted in the water.
