A long wide sandy beach, situated east of the busy port of Stranraer - there is a cafe on the beach.


Fishing, paddling and golf are popular here. There are nature reserves a drive away, including: RSPB Mull of Galloway and Cairnsmore of Fleet National Nature Reserve.

Wildlife and Walks

A very good place to see wintering sea duck and gulls. The Soloway Firth Partnership have more information on the wildlife and exploring Loch Ryan. Visit Castle Kennedy Castle (Ruins) And Gardens which is south of Lochinch Castle and is surrounded by lochs.
