A sandy beach with rockpools towards the waves.


The beach is used for swimming, rockpooling, fishing and there is a children’s area. This is also a fantastic spot for birdwatching - there is an old swimming pool, which has been retaken by nature and now is home to a multitude of species.

Wildlife and Walks

The Fife Coastal Path runs past the beach: The beach is also an incredibly important area for its wetland habitat and species, for more information on the Firth of Forth Ramsar Site, the JNCC provide more information.

Water samples are taken at this designated bathing water by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, during the bathing season, 1st June to 15th September.
