A quiet and very long beach with great views and backed by a reserve - Castle Hill - near the Newhaven Fort, managed by the Lewes District Council. The Hope Inn is behind the beach for a bite to eat.

Activities

Enjoy some bathing at the beach and explore the reserve - the council have more information: http://www.lewes.gov.uk/community/11002.asp. The RSPB Adur is not too far away and has some great bird species (40 minute drive away). Lewes castle is north of the beach (20 minute drive away).

Wildlife and Walks

Walks along the beach or to nearby Seaford Museum and Lewes Castle. The Seahaven Coastal Trail is a lovely walk with beautiful views which runs from Saltdean to Exceat.
