Largs faces into the Firth of Clyde and is the departure point for ferries to the Isle of Cumbrae. It has a several small sandy beaches.

Boat trips to the Isle of Cumbrae. There are two museums close to the beach. Boating and golf are popular here. There is a restaurant within the harbour.

Water samples are taken at this designated bathing water by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, during the bathing season, 1st June to 15th September.
