Within Oldstairs Bay and surrounded the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a quiet secluded shingle beach situated just south of the small town of Kingsdown.


There is a golf club to the south of the beach. Enjoy the stunning scenery on coastal walks. Walk south to St. Margarets Bay and north, along the coast, to Walmer Castle and Gardens. Managed by English Heritage, this Tudor castle is home to the Lord Warden and has fantastic gardens and woodland.

Wildlife and Walks

The Saxon Shore Way and the White cliffs country trail are nearby. Samphire Hoe Reserve is south, its chalky cliffs are home to a host of insects and plants, including over 8,000 early spider orchids, 30 butterfly species and 123 species of birds - the Samphire Hoe website has more information.
