This is mainly a shingle beach set along a long straight section of coastline opposite the Isle of Wight. The beach is separated into three or four areas.

Activities

Lots of activities are popular here, including: swimming, sailing, jet skiing, windsurfing and fishing. There are children’s areas. Zoning is in place for water sports activities. Visit nearby nature reserve: Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve - Hampshire County Council provide more information.

Wildlife and Walks

Walks along promenade and adjacent large grass area. The beach is Site of Special Scientific Interest with important wildlife habitats and many Brent geese.

Water samples are taken at this designated bathing water by the Environment Agency, during the bathing season, 15th May to 30th September.

High levels of bacteria in the water can indicate pollution from sewage treatment works or polluted rain water draining from the land.

Water quality can be reduced for up to 72 hours after heavy rain. Look out for temporary signs at the beach and on our website.
