Situated near the River Yare, this beach is towards the south of Great Yarmouth’s soft sandy beach. There are restaurants and many cafes to the north of the beach.


In Great Yarmouth there is plenty to do in any weather, with amusement arcades, nightclubs and the Pleasure Beach. Boat trips operate from the harbour. Swimming, fishing and water sports are popular at the beach, including: surfing, sailing and windsurfing. There are also children’s areas.

Wildlife and Walks

Explore the long beach, promenade and piers. The RSPBS Berney Marshes and Breydon Water is to the east, which has some spectacular wildlife including golden plover, redshank and wigeon. Further north is The Waterside in Rollesby where you can survey the fabulous Trinity Broads from the bird hide.
