Cromarty has a harbour, a lighthouse and extensive sandy beaches, and is situated at the mouth of the Firth of Cromarty on the Black Isle.


Boat trips and wildlife watching. In the summer the Black Isle has swallows darting over the fields and the shore of the Moray Firth is particularly good for fossil huntin - Eathie beach is good for fossils, south of Cromarty:

There is a path heading out to the Suitors of Cromarty rocks and viewpoint. Look out for dolphins, they have been spotted in the Cromarty Firth and to the south (Moray Firth) is one of the best places to see bottlenose dolphins in the wild:
