The beach is just south of Brean Down and stretches for 7 miles to Burnham-on-Sea. Also extensive tidal flats favoured by walkers and beach-sports enthusiasts. Brean beach has first aid trained wardens on site from April to October and remain present on weekends between October and April.
Activities
Windsurfing, sailing and jet skiing are popular here.
Wildlife and Walks
Visitors should respect the warning notices about the dangers of mud along this beach due to the extensive mudflats here. There is a local wildlife reserve. Below the cliffs of the headland, Brean Down, is an area of rock pools.

Water samples are taken at this designated bathing water by the Environment Agency, during the bathing season,
15th May to 30th September.
