A sand and pebble beach backed by cliffs - the sand is covered at high tide. There is a cafe nearby for refreshments.

Activities

Swimming is popular here and there are local amusements and a funfair. There is a PWC lane marked, Entry/Exit lane ONLY, designated for PWC (jet skis). There is a ‘SCUBA Instructor’ nearby and cafes for refreshments.

Wildlife and Walks

Walk to an explore the ruins at the top of nearby Jordan Hill or walk to Weymouth, passing two RSPB reserves - Radipole & Lodmoor. Radipole lake has 250 bird species and over 200 plants and at Lodmoor you might spot a kingfisher or bird of prey hunting.

Excellent — the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest

Good — generally good water quality

Sufficient — meets minimum standards

Poor — You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
