A long sandy beach on the edge of Duddong sands. Askam-in-Furness has a large pier built from slag from the old iron works.

Boating, fishing, golfing and bird watching are popular here.

Wildlife and Walks

A walk from here to Barrow-in-Furness can be a very rewarding day trip offering some magnificent views. This area is a breeding ground for the rare natterjack toad. To the south are two spectacular nature reserves: Sandscale Haws and North Walney.
