Bring your own gloves and pickers with you if you have them. We keep it simple. Prepare for some counting and sorting!

Directions: Once you enter Dale village you'll find yourself in a one-way system. Follow the road past the seafront and around to the right down a street of houses. Keep following it around past a cemetery on your left and past Dale castle and you'll see Dale church on your right. Just before the church there is a turning to the left up a hill past Dale castle (private residence). Follow this to the top where you will find a few parking spaces. The road is a dead-end with another parking space or two on the way, and a couple at the end (more than this impedes turning).

I usually advise participants to park in the main car park in the village. You would then need to walk back through the back of the car park along the road and then through the field following the footpath (no need to go up the hill past the castle). The nearest toilets are in the village past the village hall (which is next to The Griffin pub).

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
