Skegness Aquarium Monthly Clean
Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.
Come and join us here at the Aquarium for a beach clean!
The Beach Clean will commence at 10am, where we meet at the front doors of Skegness Aquarium. Whilst we wait for all our attendees to arrive you will have time to use the toilet facilities. Then we will carry out our safety briefing and sign consent forms before heading down to the beach.
We hope to be cleaning between 10.30 and 11.30 but we have been known to overrun a little.
Litter pickers, bin bags and rings will be provided as well as gloves, you only need bring yourselves!
The clean may be cancelled due to bad weather but if that is the case, I will contact you on the email addresses you used when you sign up and inform you if and when the clean will be rescheduled for.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to answer them.
Also worth knowing…
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
