Sand Bay Summer Beach Clean 2022
All of our events are arranged in line with national and local government Covid guidance. Please ensure that you know and understand the current rules.
Join me and the Marine Conservation Society for a summer clean-up on Sand Bay to celebrate the start of 2022!
The plan - to clean the beach and record the litter as we go on Beachwatch survey forms...Find out more about surveying and the importance of Beachwatch litter data here!
Equipment is provided but please bring your own gloves (e.g. gardening) and hand sanitiser if you can. July can be pretty hot, even in the morning, so please bring a sun hat, sun cream and water in a reuseable bottle. Closed toe shoes still advised due to sharp litter objects that can cause injury.
Car parking - the nearest car park is Sand Bay Car Park, BS22 9UE. There is a height barrier here (2.1m) & fee to park (all day, £2.50).
Loos - there are loos in Sand Bay Car Park (30p).
Meeting location - meet on the beach opposite the Sand Bay Car Park here.
Dogs are allowed on Sand Bay.
Any questions and please get in touch...
Also worth knowing…
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
1 space remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
