Porthilly Beach Clean and Survey - Hosted by The 2 Minute Foundation

Michael Wray

Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.

  • Beach stretch:

    Porthilly

  • Date and time:

    26 Sep 2021, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Meeting point:

The meeting point will be on the right hand side of beach (as you look out to shore), near the footpath. Parking- there should be enough parking along the road as it’s not too popular at low tide. However, my friends who own the paddock field near the church, have said we can park there too.

  • Capacity:

    30 volunteers - 28 spaces left

  • School friendly?

    No

Lucy, the local Guardian Angel for The 2 Minute Foundation, will be hosting a beach clean at Porthilly as part of the Great British Beach Clean. This event will be supported by The 2 Minute Foundaations own Campaigns Assistant, Mike who will be on hand to aid the data collection process. Survey sheets and litter picking gear will be provided on the day so you only need to bring yourself, your family and friends to help clean the area and record he litter that we find on the day!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
