We will be cleaning the beach from Bowleaze cove towards Overcombe. This is a shingle beach so suitable footwear will be needed as those stones can be sharp. Gloves are also advised. There is also a river outflow but it is regarded safe. Children are most welcome with accompanying adults. The beach is dog friendly, but beware there are warrens close by, so if your dog has selected hearing he may find alternative entertainment with the rabbits.

We will supply bags and we also have a limited number of hoops and litter pickers. Please advise in advance if you need to loan any.

Knowing how important our seas, beaches and marine life are to all of you, we hope you will help make this a sucessful event.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
