Map https://goo.gl/maps/1QhCQkCik2w
Please note this is the FORT BOVISAND side (not café Bovisand). Use the Postcode PL9 0AD to get to Cliff Edge Café not café Bovisand to park and meet.

There is a charge for the car park. Please arrive by 11am to be equipped and briefed at the top of the cliff and you will then bring your equipment down to the beach.

Before your beach clean event, it would be great if you could be aware of, and prepare, the following:

 • Please bring strong gloves (gardening-type gloves) if possible.
 • Have a pen or pencil with you
 • Carry a pocket-size hand sanitiser if you have some (although some will be available). Use it as soon as you finish cleaning.
 • Bring a face covering, in case you are working closeby someone else.
 • Bring along a litter picker if you have one (optional)

Do keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly e.g. bring waterproofs, warm clothes, hats etc. Please wear sturdy shoes with grips. It’s often either a lot colder than you think, so layer up and bring along a drink, ideally in a re-usable bottle to reduce litter we create.
If you need any medication, bring it with you and if you have any mobility issues please let me know in advance. The steps down are VERY steep and large. There is an easier but longer walk down/up.

The event will be small and maintain social distancing. I will be briefing you ahead of the clean about staying safe, but please also read the following beforehand, so that you know what to expect:

If you are showing symptoms of Coronavirus, or live with anyone who is, please stay at home and do not attend the event.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the beach clean due to weather, heightened restrictions or showing any symptoms myself, I contact you by email so please do check your account the day before.
Please expect to carry out a FULL and detailed litter survey for government monitoring at this event, rather than a just a beach clean. It is less suitable for young children for this reason. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
